How is traditional dent repair done?
In comparison to PDR, traditional body repair is a complex and time consuming process.
Firstly, the damaged panel is stripped of all door handles, mouldings, trims, etc.
Then, the dent is pushed out roughly into shape and the paint is stripped from the panel.
Next, body filler is applied and sanded to the shape of the panel.
A primer paint coat is sprayed onto the filler, cured and then sanded down with a fine sand paper. In addition, to ensure that the paint colours match, the adjacent panel is sanded down for painting.
Finally, the car is masked and painted in a special oven and, when dry, it is taken out and the door handles, mouldings and trims are re-fitted.
